Reading Locations for Inventory Items

OBJECTIVE

The location identifies where an item is located in inventory. This document explains the hierarchy used to suggest the location of an item when taking it from inventory.

The following options withdraw items out of inventory and therefore the hierarchy described in this document applies:

Reading the default location of an item in the various options for withdrawing inventory by priority

  1. Hierarchy applied if Catalogue Item Procurement is used

 

This option is only available if the Procurement module is installed.

  1. The system first proposes the location defined in Catalogue Item Procurement based on the selected location, if quantities are available in this location.
  2. If no quantities are available in this location, the system proposes the last location in which quantities are available, based on the selected location.
  3. If no quantities are available in any locations, the system proposes the location defined in Catalogue Item Procurement.

  1. The system proposes the last location in which available quantities are found, based on the selected location.
  2. If no quantities are available, the system proposes the location defined in Catalogue Management.
