Using maestro*'s my dashboard option

Objective

My Dashboard is a maestro* option used to display applets, which are in fact designed to display as sections of the dashboard. Each of these applets allow for a quick overview of maestro* modules, options and lists. Detailed explanations found below will inform you how to add applets to your dashboard.

My Dashboard is also used to display shortcuts to lists created in various modules of maestro*. These lists can be private or public.

prerequisites

  • List Generator
  • Indicator Management

Depending on the selected applet, please refer to the help file (F1) of the option from which the data originates in order to know how to create such data.

Summary

Add an element to the dashboard

  1. In the maestro* toolbar, click on My Dashboard.

When My Dashboard contains no applet or no list, the Select - List/Applet window is automatically displayed to allow the selection of a dashboard element. If that is the case, go directly to step 5.

  1. Right click on one of the existing tabs (sub-dashboards).
  2. Click on the name of an existing applet or list and select the Add an Applet option in the pop-up menu that appears.
  3. Indicate where to add the element, above, under, to the left or to the right of the existing applet/list.
  4. Use the Select - List/Applet window to choose a list or an applet to add to the dashboard.

In the Select - List/Applet window, lists are stored under the module and option names and applets are gathered under the maestro* Applets menu. Indicators, if thers is some available, are displayed as is.

List

The available lists come from the various maestro* modules and are produced by the List Generator. To see which ones are available, open the hierarchy structure of a particular module or option, select it, and click on OK.

If no list exists for a given option, the name of the maestro* option (and its module) won't be displayed in the list/applet selection window, even if the user is granted access in maestro*. The user must use the List Generator and create a list in order to display it in the dashboard.

Lists can be private or public, and this configuration is determined when creating a list in the List Generator. This configuration can also be modified once the list have been created.

When Public or Private is selected in the Visibility field of the Select - List/Applet window, only the maestro* modules that contain public or private lists will be displayed in the tree view. If All is selected, private AND public lists will be displayed.

Applet

Applets can be viewed as summaries of maestro* options, not necessarily in the form of reports, like for the lists.

Several applets can be added to the dashboard:

  • Pivotal Project Analysis
  • Indicators
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Project Documents Inquiry
  • Documents
  • Delayed Transfers Management
  • Cash Flow Analysis
  • Financial Statements
  • Pivotal Rentals by Project Analysis
  • Pivotal Project by Period Analysis
  • Issue Management Report
  • Issue Management Report by Type
  • List of Transactions to Approve

Multiple applets are available to all maestro* users, except for the following: the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable applets require the current user to have access to the Customer Inquiry and Supplier Inquiry options.

Indicator

Indicators are used to easily display and follow up a summary of data (like results obtained, use of resources, progress of work, etc.) in My Dashboard. There is three types of indicators: SQL request, maestro* Function and List.

For more information about the indicators, please refer to the Indicator Management help file.
