Moving the SharedFiles File

Objective

This short procedure explains how to safely move the ShareFiles file to a new location.

Before proceeding, why not make sure to have a recent back-up copy?

 

Steps

1. First make sure no user is connected in maestro*.
2. Unauthorize the Pervasive license:
   1. In the Windows menu, locate Pervasive (version 11) or Actian PSQL (version 12 and over).
   2. Open the License Administrator application.
   3. Select the licenses and click on the Deauthorize button.
3. Locate the SharedFiles file and "cut it" (Ctrl + X).
4. Paste the file in its new location (Ctrl + V).
5. Authorize the Pervasive license (repeate steps 2a to 2c, by clicking on the Authorize button).
6. Connect to maestro* with an administrator account.
7. Maestro* detects that the file is no longer accessible and will ask you its new location. Indicate the path of its new location in the window that appears.
8. The new location of the SharedFiles file will then be entered in the General Settings.
