Update of the Maestro* Client on Workstations Following a Version Change to MS SQL Mode

Objective

This technical procedure will allow you to update your maestro* clients in MS SQL mode on your workstations following a version upgrade.

ATTENTION! This procedure can only be used to update workstations where maestro* is installed and where the conversion from maestro* 3.04 to maestro* 3.05 has been done and completed by a Maestro technician on the main workstation.

Some serious consequences can occur if this procedure is performed in any other context.

prerequisites

  • Have the maestro* server name on hand
  • You will also need the name of the maestro* database

Your computer technician can help you find all of this information.

Steps

ATTENTION! The Outlook app must be closed before moving forward.

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, select the Programs option.
  2. Uninstall the following softwares:
    • maestro*
    • Maestro Amyuni
    • Maestro Outlook Addin
    • Maestro Thire Parties
    • Redemption v5.11

Ignore any of the last softwares you do not own.

  3. From your server's MaestroSharedFiles, launch Maestro3.05.0xx.0xx.exe – Shortcut or Maestro3.05.0xx.0xx.exe – Raccourci.

Note that this shortcut can be used to install the newly converted maestro* version.

  1. Follow the steps displayed on the screen, all the while keeping the default parameters.
  2. Still in the MaestroSharedFiles, copy the Maestro.cfg configuration file and paste it in the workstation's C:\Programdata\Maestro Technologies\Maestro directory.

The Programdata directory may not be visible by default on all workstations. We can open the directory by typing %programdata% in the Windows search tool.

  1. Launch maestro* and make sure everything runs smoothly.
