Define Item Classifications

OBJECTIVE

The Define Item Classifications function is used to define a structure of categories to classify catalogue items and facilitate searching.

You can create a maximum of 10 levels per main category.

Classify items

  1. Click on a category in the Categories section and hold down the left mouse button. Drag the category to the desired location in the Classification section, which becomes highlighted. Release the mouse button.

To create a main category, drag the selected category directly under Classification. To create a sub-category, drag the selected category under a main category.

To cancel a classification, simply click the Delete icon.

  1. Repeat step one for all of the desired categories.

You can move categories up or down using the icons in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Simply position the cursor on the category and then use the icon to move this category up or down.

  1. Click Save.

You can subsequently select the classification appropriate for a new item when it is created in Catalogue Management.
