Configuring the Quotation
Objective
The Configuration screen contains functions for configuring the functions in the Quotation - Advanced Mode option. It can be accessed when a quotation is created.
This is where the user sets his preferences for validation and the quotation copy.

To access the Configuration screen
- Open a quotation and click the Configuration icon.
- The Configuration screen is displayed.

The Configuration screen is divided into four separate tabs:

Tab

Change the behaviour of the quotation.
Validation
Configure the validations that maestro* must perform whenever the user clicks the Validate Quotation icon.
For additional information, refer the Validating a quotation document.
Automatically copy the elements from the Information tab when the user uses the Create a new quotation from this one function. This function is available from the File menu.
Define the print format for the Print Quotation report available when the Print icon is clicked.

Field
Used to
Autosaving
Automatically save data at the interval specified in this field.
NOTE: If no value is entered in this field, the automatic save function will not be activated. The user will have to save manually to avoid losing information.
Include Subcontractors into Contacts
If selected, creates a Contact Group that includes the sub-contractors (Contacts type) when the user clicks the Contacts icon.
IMPORTANT! When selecting a sub-contractor, it must be selected from the Contacts tab, not the Supplier tab to be included in the Contact Group.
Automatically hide items without quantitywithin assemblies
Automatically hide catalog items without quantities in an assembly that has quantities.
Bypass formula when the quantity is changed
If selected, prioritizes the quantity entered manually in the Quantity column of an element (Detail tab).
Otherwise, press the F2 key to override a formula.
To find the quantity calculated in a formula, open the Formula screen by clicking the "..." in the Quantity column and by unchecking the Disabled option.
Always calculate the costs automatically
If selected, calculate costs automatically. (Default Value)
Otherwise, update the amounts manually. Maestro* displays the following message above the tabs: "The amounts must be recalculated. Click the 'Recalculate quotation or press (F9)" icon.
Automatically calculate complex formulas
If selected, automatically calculate the complex formulas defined in the Quantity column in the Detail tab. (Default Value)
Otherwise, manually calculate the quotation by clicking the Calculate Quotation (F9) icon.
Automatically save the Calculating Sheet tab when exiting
If selected, automatically save the worksheet when exiting the tab.
If maestro*is used in Terminal Server mode, this option helps to avoid some potential performance issues.
NOTE: If this option is checked, the spreadsheet will not be displayed automatically upon the saving of an estimate. You must first quit or change tabs, and then come back to it to display the new spreadsheet.
Load the quotation in the background
If selected, maestro* lets you start working in a quotation before it finishes loading.
Maestro* first loads the tab and selected level.
Start each quotation in a separate environment
If selected, opens more than one quotation at a time.
Otherwise, one quotation is opened at a time.
Display the full tree above the detail grid (versus current level only)
This option affects the display of the grid at the top of the Detail tab.
If selected, the height of the grid is set to the required height to see the Total division and the four levels.
Otherwise, only the Total division is visible. A vertical scroll bar is available for viewing the other levels.
Adjust the height of the grid based on the number of levels
If checked, the display height of the grid at the top of the Detail tab adjusts to the current level.
Local change of resource ratios
Affects resources that are linked to items in the Detail tab.
Available Values:
Confirm before changing ratios
If selected, maestro* asks you to confirm every Ratio change made manually.
A confirmation message is displayed. If you answer Yes, maestro* applies the change to all resources with the same code in the Detail tab. If you answer No, the change is applied to the current resource.
Apply the change in ratio to all occurrences
If selected, maestro* automatically applies the change to all resources with the same code.
Apply the change in ratio to the current occurrence
If selected, maestro* automatically applies the change to the current resource.
Local change the description of variable cost item
Affects the description of items with a variable cost.
Available Values:
Confirm before changing a description
If selected, maestro* displays a confirmation message for any manual changes to the description.
If you answer Yes, maestro* applies the change to the description to all items with a variable cost using the same code and displayed in the Detail tab.
If you answer No, the change is applied to the current item.
Locally change the description for all items with this existing description
If selected, maestro* automatically applies the change to all items with a variable cost and with the same code in the Detail tab.
Create a new item with this description
If selected, maestro* automatically creates a local item in the current quotation.
- Quotation Copy tab:
This tab contains the elements from the Information tab that can be copied automatically if the user uses the Create a new quotation from this one function when the fields below are selected:
- Project -#
- Customer Information
- Main Customer’s Information
- Site Information
- Detailed Description **
- Contacts **
- Dates**
- Transfer Information (except the Project No. field)**
** These fields are selected by default.

Description
Always display this screen before creating a new quotation from an existing one
If selected and the Create a new quotation from this one function is used, a new Configuration - Quotation Copy screen is displayed.
This new screen lets you select the elements (from the Information tab) that will be copied from an existing quotation. This does not affect default configurations in any way.
- Report – Print Quotation tab:
This tab lets you define the default print format that will be used when printing the Print Quotation report. This report is available in the dropdown menu displayed when you click the Print icon.

Printing Layout
Defines the print layout for the Print Quotation report.
By default, maestro* prints the detailed format. The summary format prints a summary of the quotation, displaying the divisions, sections and elements available in the sections according to the colours specified for each level.
Level Header Colours
This section applies only to the summary print layout
You can determine the colour displayed on the report for each level header, to distinguish each of the levels. If a colour printer is available, the print result will be the same as the report displayed on the screen.
To change a colour, simply double-click a colour in a level and select the new colour.
Reset Colours to Default
If you click the Reset Colours to Default icon, maestro* applies the colours defined by the user in the Detail tab.
- Click OK to save the changes.
