Usage Meter Management

OBJECTIVE

The Usage Meter Management function is used to enter a counter log on a given date for each piece of equipment.

 

You can tell the system to use a single counter by checking the Use Only One Meter? box in Configuration.Otherwise, two columns of counters will be available, corresponding with the counters defined in the maintenance categories for the equipment.

If a piece of equipment has already been used before the maintenance system is installed, a Work Order should be created to update the starting counter. In addition to updating the counter, this also indicates when each specific task is performed.

Enter counter information

  1. Enter the required information:
 

You can use one or more filters to decrease the number of items displayed in the Enter the Usage Meter section.

You cannot enter a log for a piece of equipment for which a work order exists.

Field

Description

Date

Date on which the counter was updated.

NOTES: This field contains the default value for the Actual Date column from the transaction entry grid.

The date of the log must be after the date of the last entry.

Project

Project number from Project Management.

NOTE: This field can be used to filter information.

Location

Location from Define Locations.

NOTE: This field can be used to filter information.

Person in Charge

Name of the person in charge of the equipment from Employee Management.

NOTE: This field can be used to filter information.

 

If values have been entered in the Project, Location or Person In Charge fields, you can click the Filter Data According to Specified Parameters icon to have the system select each piece of equipment according to the filters entered and displays them in the grid. If no filters have been entered, all equipment is displayed in the grid. If no filters are used, you must enter each piece of equipment for which a counter must be entered manually.

  1. Enter the required information in the Enter Meter Readings tab:
 

In addition to this option, the counters can be updated automatically using other system options (Work Order, Fuel Management or Hours).

NOTE: When you enter the Code, the Description and Category are displayed by default.

Information about the last entry in the system.

  • Note

New value for the equipment.

Log for counter 1.

NOTE: When you enter the Code, the Project, Location, Person In Charge and User are displayed by default. If the data has changed since the last counter log, you can enter the new values at that time.

Log for counter 2.

Specific note retrieved when the counter log is created.

NOTE: This note is included on the work order.

  1. Click Save.
