Define Types of Visits

OBJECTIVE

The Define Types of Visits option is used to define a database of various types of visits available when entering planned maintenance contract visits. This makes it possible to identify the type of visit required for each of the visit dates. You can also print a short text on maintenance to be performed or create notes that can be used in the Enter a service Call, Return from a Service Call or Preparation options.

Create a visit type

  1. Enter the required information:

 

Fields followed by the * character are mandatory fields.

Field

Description

Task Code*

Code that identifies the type of visit.

French Description*

French description that identifies the type of visit.

English Text

French Text

Identifies the text to be printed for the planned visit when maintenance contracts are entered.

NOTE: You can enter three lines of details. This text is displayed during search when entering a contract and when printing recorders for maintenance contracts.

NOTE: This text is displayed in the Details section of the call when maintenance calls are generated.

English Description

English description that identifies the type of visit.

Skill

Identifies the skill required to conduct this type of visit.

NOTE: The skills are derived from Define Skills option. This allows you to assign the correct resource (technician) according to the requested skill.

Required Date Calculation

    • Approximate.
    • Fixed
    • Limited

Specifies how the maintenance (visit) date should be dealt with in call dispatch.

Default value. An approximate date is a date on which maintenance should be performed, but the dispatcher may decide to advance or delay the visit.

A fixed date is a date when maintenance must be performed and it cannot be changed.

The limited date is the date on which the technician should visit, at the latest. In some cases, the dispatcher may decide to advance the visit, without affecting the maintenance.

Notes

Text that can be copied to Memo fields in the following options:

NOTE: This text can be accessed by pressing the F7 key and replaces the text previously entered in the locations listed above.
