Printable Document

This maestro*EXPRESS follows up on the changes made to the Federal Basic Personal Amount formula for 2020 and the addition of a new section in maestro* to this effect.

Indeed, new fields have been created in the Government Tables option in order to enter the values needed for the new Federal Base Personal Amount formula. These new fields will be displayed following the installation of the 3.04.43.35 and 3.05.24.35 maestro* updates. It is therefore recommended to perform the configurations presented in this document right after the update has been installed.

IMPORTANT! Companies who have applied the temporary workaround procedure, detailed in the How To Workaround Procedure - Federal Basic Personal Amount (BPAF) for the Year 2020, must reset the value entered in the Additional credits (from TDI) field, of the Employee Management option (Income Taxes tab, Federal section), to zero (0), since maestro* will now manage this calculation through the government tables only.

The amounts to be used come from taxing authorities publications (TP-1015.F for the province of Quebec and T4032 for the federal and all other provinces). They are provided for ease of reference. The customer is responsible for the validation of those amounts.
