Define Equipment Codes

OBJECTIVE

The Define Equipment Codes function is used to create a database of equipment covered by maintenance contracts. You can also specify the maintenance equipment necessary for a given piece of equipment or associate maintenance types to a specific piece of equipment and the equipment required.

We recommend printing the Material Projection – Detailed and Material Projection – Summary reports to ensure that the equipment required for maintenance is in stock.

Enter a new piece of equipment

1. Enter the required information in the Details tab:

Field	Description
Code*	Equipment code.
Brand	Equipment brand. NOTE: This information is available in Service Call Inquiry, Service Contract Inquiry, Contract Management, Return From a Service Call and when printing maintenance work orders.
French Description	French description of the equipment.
English Description*	English description of the equipment.
Comment	Used to enter a comment about the equipment. NOTE: This comment is accessible when selecting equipment in Contract Management, without being able to print it on forms.

1. Duration of Warranty section:

If these fields are completed when entering a call or call back, the system displays an asterisk to indicate that there is still a warranty on the equipment. You can also display a warning message if Warn if any under warranty is checked in Configuration – Contract Management.

 

Field	Description
Labour	Number of months warranty on labour.
Material	Number of months warranty on parts.

2. Breakdown section:

Field	Description
Code	Equipment code. NOTE: If the inventory module is installed, this field is from Catalogue Management, otherwise, it is from Define Materials in the Service Management module.
Item	Description of the equipment associated with the Code field.
Quantity	Quantity necessary to maintain the equipment.

2. Enter the required information in the Maintenance tab:
   1. Maintenance section: enter in this section all maintenance work (as defined in the Define Maintenances Items option) linked to the current equipment.
      Select a Code, the Description should be automatically displayed.
   2. Materials linked to the maintenance : cette section permet de lier du matériel Si le module de l’inventaire est installé, ce champ provient de la "Gestion du catalogue", sinon il provient de la "Gestion du matériel" du module "Appels de service". aux maintenances à effectuer sur l’équipement.
      Sélectionner un Code, la Description s'affichera automatiquement. Noter également la Quantity nécessaire pour assurer la maintenance de l'équipement.
3. Click Save.
