Define Trades

OBJECTIVE

The Define Trades function is used to define the various CCQ trade codes to manage multiple categories allowing employees to have multiple trade codes in a given pay week.

Icon

Title

Used to

Print the form associated to the trade.

With the help of the icon’s dropdown menu, it is also possible to print, based on user permissions, to print a list and access the list generator.

Documents

Display the documents saved un Document Management for the selected trade.

Default Bonuses and Deductions

Access the Bonuses and deductions grid for the selected trade.

Certifications required

Access the Certifications screen for the selected trade. Allows the user to select certificate codes by default by trade code and save them.

NOTE: The "Synchronization" icon allows the user to search all active employees (whose “Contact” file is active) that are configured with the current default trade code. For each of the employees found, the existing certifications are verified and maestro* adds the trade certifications that were not found. However, if certifications were deleted in the certification screen of the trade, these will not be deleted in the employee file.

Access the Form Configuration by table screen for the selected trade.

Only the non-self-explanatory icons or those with special features are defined in the table above.

Create a trade

  1. Enter the required information in the Main Fields tab.

The Configuration icon is used to define entry options for the Code field.

 

Field

Description

Code

Trade code.

Caution! This trade code is printed on the CCQ Employer’s Monthly Report if the CCQ Trade Code field is empty.

NOTE: For the various CCQ trade codes, go to the www.ccq.org web site and refer to the Salary Rates section.

French Description

French description of the trade code.

Short Description

Short French description of the trade code.

NOTE: This description is displayed in Enter Hours, R column, if the Processing mode of the 4 groups is 2-Wage Rate.

English Description

English description of the trade code.

Short Description

Short English description of the trade code.

NOTE: This description is displayed in Enter Hours, R column, if the Processing mode of the 4 groups is 2-Wage Rate.

Not Governed

Indicates whether this trade is governed or not.

NOTE: If the box is checked, when you enter hours, the system applies sector 0 and no calculation involving the committee is performed.

Status

Allows to indicate the trade's CCQ status.

CCQ Trade Code

Code used to identify the trade to be specified on the monthly CCQ report.

NOTES: This makes it possible to have trade codes in maestro* that differ from the CCQ codes. If this is the case, the transactions will be classified and grouped on the CCQ Employer’s Monthly Report based on the CCQ trade code.

If a code is specified here, it will replace the original trade code when the report is printed.

Use to update hourly rates

If this box is checked, maestro* will use the CCQ Trade Code to update the hourly rates. If the box is not checked, the maestro*'s trade code will be used.

Use to update social benefits

If this box is checked, maestro* will use the CCQ Trade Code to update the social benefits. If the box is not checked, the maestro*'s trade code will be used.

Group

Expense group to which this trade code is charged for the drilled hours.

NOTE: If the Daily Drilling Report module is installed, this field is visible.

Type of Work

Group that identifies the type of work and used to calculate bonuses for employees in the Daily Drilling Report module.

NOTE: If the Daily Drilling Report module is installed, this field is visible.

Cost

Enter a cost (including fringe benefits) for regular, overtime and double time for the employee. This amount is entered as the labour amount in project expenses if the “fixed cost” method is used.

NOTE: No value should be entered if fringe benefits are used.

Fringe Benefits

Increase rate for fringe benefits for regular, overtime or double time. These estimated rates are used to increase the salaries paid to employees that include fringe benefits when posted to projects.

NOTE: The amounts for estimated fringe benefits will be replaced with the actual fringe benefits when the fringe benefits are posted.

Selling

Selling amount (including fringe benefits and the desired profit) used to re-invoice labour amounts.

Description

Default Activity

If a daily entry is entered in maestro*, the default activity will be automatically applied.

If a daily entry is entered in maestro*MOBILE and the activity has not been selected at this moment, then the default activity will be applied.

NOTE: For a premium in the daily entry, the default activity of the premium will be used; if no default is configured, then the default activity of the trade will be used; if no default is configured, the default activity of the employee will be used.

Default Group

If a daily entry is entered in maestro*, the default group will be automatically applied.

If a daily entry is entered in maestro*MOBILE and the group has not been selected at this moment, then the default group will be applied.

NOTE: For a premium in the daily entry, the default group of the premium will be used; if no default is configured, then the default group of the trade will be used; if no default is configured, the default group of the employee will be used.

Available in *MOBILE

Used to indicate that this trade is available in maestro*MOBILE when entering a daily entry.

Overtime Calc. Code

Allow user to select an overtime calculation code using the Define Overtime Calculation Parameters.

NOTE: The overtime calculation program is determined using the following priorities:

  1. The calculation code noted in the employee's file
  2. The calculation code noted in the trade option
  3. The calculation code noted in the activity
  4. The calculation code noted in the project
  5. The calculation code noted in the work category option

Double Time

This section allows to indicate the single, half, and double time accrued rate to enter in service quotations.

NOTE: These rates are different than the "basic" trade rates, which are used to calculate employee payroll.
